James Diggle

James Diggle is a distinguished professor of Greek and Latin, known for his work in classical studies and as a key figure in the investigation of the geographic location of Ithaca. He was instrumental in collaborating with Robert Bittlestone to explore the hypothesis that the kingdom of Odysseus was located on the Paliki peninsula rather than the modern island of Ithaca. Diggle's scholarly insight helped refine the argument that Homer's descriptions could support this new location, despite traditional beliefs. At the age of 82, he continues to contribute to the academic discourse surrounding classical literature.
