James Gall

James Gall was a Scottish theologian and geographer known for introducing the Gall-Peters projection in 1855, which aimed to provide a more accurate representation of the world's landmasses by preserving area ratios, in contrast to the widely used Mercator projection that distorts size and shapes, particularly of countries in the Global South.
