James Lumley

James Lumley, the father of actress Joanna Lumley, was born in Lahore, now in Pakistan, and served in a Gurkha regiment in the Indian army after training at Sandhurst, England. Known for his philosophical nature, sense of humor, and love of history, he instilled in his daughter resilience and a love for literature.
