Ján Appel

Ján Appel is a former police pyrotechnician turned entrepreneur, who now owns a pyrotechnic company named Pyra. He specializes in the disposal of unexploded ordnance, including World War II aerial bombs, and is involved in pyrotechnic surveys to locate remnants of wartime munitions. Recently, he was in the news for his expertise in safely handling a 500-pound bomb discovered during excavation work in the center of Bratislava.
