Ján Šatara

Ján Šatara is the mayor of Breziny, a small village in Slovakia with a population of fewer than 400 residents. He has recently been in the news due to his arrest on corruption charges, specifically for allegedly soliciting a bribe of 80,000 euros related to changes in the local zoning plan. He was apprehended by the Organized Crime Prevention Office while receiving a portion of this bribe, amounting to 40,000 euros. Šatara has been in custody for nearly two weeks as investigations continue into his involvement in a project concerning the establishment of a center for treating childhood obesity and related disorders.
