Janat
Janat is a five-year-old girl from Morocco who was born with a severe cleft lip and palate, which initially left her unable to feed properly and at risk of severe malnutrition. Thanks to the intervention of Operation Smile, a medical charity that provides free surgeries for children with cleft conditions, Janat was able to receive life-saving care that included the creation of a feeding plate and subsequent surgeries. Her journey illustrates the critical importance of access to medical care for children with congenital conditions, allowing her to grow stronger and have the opportunity for a normal childhood.
