Jane O'Leary is a distinguished Irish composer, pianist, and music educator, known for her pioneering contributions to contemporary music in Ireland. She co-founded the new-music ensemble Concorde in 1976 and played a crucial role in the establishment of Aosdána, an academy of creative artists. Over her career spanning more than 50 years, O'Leary has composed numerous works, championed emerging composers, and fostered a vibrant music community in Galway. Recently, she was honored with a lifetime achievement award from the National Concert Hall, recognizing her significant impact on the arts.
