Janet J. Fay was a widow in her sixties who fell victim to Raymond Fernandez's deceptive charms. After corresponding with him through personal ads, she was lured to New York, where she was ultimately murdered by Fernandez and his accomplice, Martha Beck. Her mysterious disappearance raised suspicions that led to the eventual discovery of her body.
