
Janez Meglič
Janez Meglič is a prominent Slovenian alpinist known for his significant contributions to mountaineering, including his participation in the legendary Yugoslav expedition to Mount Everest in 1979. Alongside fellow climber Andrej Štremfelj, Meglič reached the summit of the world's highest peak, a feat that remains one of the most challenging Himalayan ascents and has not been repeated since. He also summited Everest again in 1990 with his wife Marija Štremfelj and has achieved several other notable climbs, solidifying his reputation in the alpine community.
