János Margittai

János Margittai was a pioneering Slovak playwright and poet, considered the founder of modern Slovak drama. Born in Mukačevo, he wrote plays in Hungarian and collaborated closely with notable figures in Slovak literature. His works, particularly the farce 'Na medveďov!!!', have been influential and continue to be performed, with a legacy that inspired playwrights like Tennessee Williams.
