Janovics Jenő

Janovics Jenő (1872–1945) was a prominent Hungarian theater director known for his leadership of the Cluj National Theatre during challenging times. He demonstrated remarkable commitment to the arts, personally funding the theater's operations during World War I. Janovics was also a pioneer in film, establishing a film studio and producing movies, which he occasionally used to support the theater financially. His legacy is marked by his bravery and dedication, exemplified by his defiance against political pressures during the Romanian occupation of Cluj.
