Jaroslav Vrábeľ

Jaroslav Vrábeľ was a prominent Slovak journalist and the long-time editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper Korzár. Born on December 9, 1979, in Košice, he dedicated his career to critical journalism, advocating for social justice and transparency in governance. Throughout his nearly 25 years at Korzár, Vrábeľ significantly contributed to investigative journalism, earning numerous awards for his impactful reporting. He passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2024, at the age of 44, leaving a lasting legacy in Slovak media. In recognition of his contributions, he will receive the city of Košice's award posthumously, reflecting his commitment to integrity and accountability in journalism.
