Jean-Baptiste Sindayigaya is a Burundian politician and member of the Batwa community, currently serving as a deputy representing the Kirundo constituency. He is also the legal representative of Ujedeco, an organization dedicated to the development of indigenous Batwa youth. Recently, Sindayigaya was in the news after he was allegedly assaulted and attempted to be kidnapped by men suspected to be agents of the national intelligence service, raising concerns about political violence and the safety of public officials in Burundi.
