Jean-Charles Jacobs
Jean-Charles Jacobs was a Belgian naturalist credited with the discovery and naming of Belgica antarctica, the only insect endemic to Antarctica. His work during the late 19th century contributed significantly to the understanding of Antarctic biodiversity, particularly through his participation in the Belgica expedition, which was the first to winter in the harsh conditions of the Antarctic.
