Jean-François Aveyra was a pioneering industrialist from Gabon, born on April 6, 1937, in Libreville. He made significant contributions to the Gabonese economy through his establishment of the country's first industrial factory, Auxiliaire des Bâtiments Aveyra (ABA), which produced a wide range of goods including construction materials and locally made perfumes. Aveyra was also a talented athlete, having played professional football and excelled in boxing. His legacy includes not only his entrepreneurial achievements but also his commitment to social development, as he co-founded an educational institution that nurtured Gabon's elite. Aveyra's memory was honored posthumously on December 22, 2024, when a public square in Libreville was named 'Place Jean-François Aveyra.'
