Jean-François Fountaine

Jean-François Fountaine is a French politician and former mayor of La Rochelle, serving for over a decade before announcing his immediate resignation. Known for his diverse political affiliations, he faced significant challenges in local elections, including a narrow defeat in the 2014 primaries that led to his expulsion from the Socialist Party. Fountaine is also recognized for his background in competitive sailing, having represented France in the 1976 Montreal Olympics and co-founding the successful catamaran company Fountaine-Pajot.
