Jean-Max Rivière was a prolific French lyricist known for his collaborations with iconic artists such as Brigitte Bardot, Juliette Gréco, and France Gall. Born in 1935, he played a significant role in the French music scene during the 1960s and 1970s, penning numerous hits that became classics. Rivière partnered with composer Gérard Bourgeois to create memorable songs, including Bardot's 'La Madrague' and Gréco's 'Un petit poisson, un petit oiseau.' He was also a member of the Sacem board and contributed to the rock opera 'La Révolution française.' His passing on November 15, 2023, at the age of 88, marked the loss of a cherished figure in French music.
