Jean-Philippe Gatien is a former French table tennis player who gained prominence in the 1990s. He is best known for winning the European Championships in both singles and doubles, and he was a key figure in French table tennis, having also secured a silver medal in singles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Gatien made history as the first Frenchman to win the prestigious Top 16 European tournament in 1997, a record that stood until Alexis Lebrun's recent victory in 2025.
