Jeff Leis

Dr. Jeff Leis is a senior fellow with the Australian Museum, recognized for his groundbreaking studies on the larvae of coral trout since the 1990s. His research has significantly contributed to understanding the behavioral capabilities of these larvae and their movement across the Great Barrier Reef. Leis has advocated for the establishment of more protected areas to enhance fish populations, linking ecological health to the livelihoods of over 64,000 people who rely on the reef for sustenance and fishing.
