Jennie Blake

Jennie Blake is a former office attendant at the now-defunct Office of the Political Ombudsman (OPO) in Jamaica, where she dedicated nearly two decades of service. Upon retiring in April 2022, she was dismayed to learn that she was not entitled to a gratuity or pension benefits due to the OPO’s status as a Commission of Parliament. Blake expressed her disappointment over the lack of support from the government, despite her long tenure, and highlighted her ongoing financial struggles, including mortgage payments.
