Jesús Alberto López

Jesús Alberto López is an electrical engineer from Colombia who is a key member of the Lightning Research Group at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Growing up in a region with high lightning activity, he developed a fascination with the phenomenon, which led him to focus his master's thesis on predicting thunderstorms. López aims to improve forecasting models using artificial intelligence to mitigate the risks associated with lightning strikes, particularly in areas prone to severe weather.
