Jhon Smith Arce Cruz, also known as 'Jhon Pulpo', is a notorious figure in Peru, recognized as a leader of the criminal organization 'Los Pulpos'. He gained infamy for his involvement in organized crime, particularly for his conviction in 2008 for the murder of his ex-partner and another individual in Trujillo. After serving part of his 25-year sentence, he was recently in the news due to a controversial release decision made by the Instituto Nacional Penitenciario (INPE), which was later contested by the Superior Court of Justice of Tacna.
