Jhon Viáfara

Jhon Viáfara is a former Colombian professional footballer celebrated for his contributions to the sport, particularly as a key player for Once Caldas and the Colombian national team. He gained significant recognition after winning the Copa Libertadores in 2004. However, his career took a tumultuous turn when he was implicated in drug trafficking, leading to his arrest in 2019 and subsequent conviction in the United States. Viáfara served over six years in prison before being released early due to good behavior, despite initially being sentenced to over 11 years. He has consistently maintained his innocence, claiming his involvement was a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
