
Jim Dent
Jim Dent was a pioneering Black golfer who grew up in the caddie yards of Augusta, Georgia, eventually making a name for himself on the PGA Tour as one of its longest hitters. Despite facing numerous challenges throughout his life, including the loss of both parents by age 12, Dent's dedication to the game led him to earn his PGA Tour card in 1970. Over his career, he was known for his remarkable distance off the tee and won 12 times on the PGA Tour Champions after turning 50. Dent's contributions to the sport were recognized with his induction into the Caddie Hall of Fame, and he passed away at the age of 85.
