Jim McNeill

Jim McNeill was an Australian anti-fascist and a key figure in the Spanish Civil War, known for his commitment to defending democracy against authoritarianism. Born in Balmain, he became politically active through the labour movement, which shaped his convictions and sense of justice. Alongside his comrades, he took the significant risk of traveling to Spain to fight against fascism, navigating the challenges of foreign enlistment and the dangers of the political climate back home.
