Jim Waters

Jim Waters was the owner of the Ontario Hockey League's Erie Otters and a mentor to many young players, including Matthew Schaefer. Waters passed away from a heart attack in December 2024, just months before Schaefer was drafted first overall in the 2025 NHL Draft. His unexpected death left a significant void in the lives of those he inspired and supported throughout his career in hockey.
