Jimmy Vigil

Jimmy Vigil is a mental health case manager in California and a former juvenile detainee who experienced abuse during his time at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. He has spoken out about the traumatic experiences he endured as a young person in the juvenile justice system, including being subjected to physical restraint and witnessing systemic violence. Recently, Vigil commented on a historic $4 billion settlement approved by LA county to compensate thousands of victims of abuse in juvenile facilities, expressing that while the financial compensation is significant, it cannot undo the trauma he and others suffered.
