Joan Casanelles-Abella

Joan Casanelles-Abella is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich and a visiting scientist at the Swiss Federal Research Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape (WSL). His work focuses on urban ecology and the interactions between honeybees and wild bees, where he advocates for scientifically informed strategies to manage urban beekeeping. Recently, he was in the news for co-authoring a commentary discussing the challenges posed by increasing honeybee populations in urban areas and the need for regulatory strategies to protect both honeybees and wild pollinators.
