Joaquim de Riba
Joaquim de Riba was a syndic of Andorra during the 19th century who actively sought to address the economic challenges facing the principality. In 1863, he traveled to Madrid in an attempt to restore Andorra's commercial franchises, which had been curtailed by Spanish authorities. Riba recognized the need for strategic alliances and enlisted the help of Pascual Madoz to navigate the complexities of Spanish politics.
