Joaquín Vergara Mojica

Joaquín Vergara Mojica, known within the ELN as 'Juaco', was a former guerrilla who deserted in 1994 and later became an informant for authorities. He was assassinated on August 19, 2023, in San Vicente de Chucurí, Santander, by a hitman from the ELN, who labeled the killing as an act of 'justice' for what they termed high treason.
