Joe Loya

Joe Loya is a former bank robber turned writer and advocate who gained notoriety in the late 1980s for robbing nearly two dozen banks in Southern California using only notes and an unfired gun. After serving time in prison, he has spent decades reflecting on his past, writing memoirs, and mentoring current and former inmates to help them confront their own stories and strive for positive change.
