Joël Assad is a former head coach of Inter Moengotapoe, having recently stepped down from his position after just four matches into the season, citing personal reasons rather than conflicts. He had been with the club for six years and served as interim coach before taking on the full coaching role in July 2024. Following his departure, he plans to focus on youth development at Su Sport Talent, an organization dedicated to nurturing young football talent in Suriname.
