Johanne Liou, also known as the 'Sunflower Queen,' gained notoriety during the 2014 Sunflower movement protests in Taiwan, where she became a prominent figure due to her striking appearance and outspoken nature. After entering the United States on a temporary visitor’s visa in 2019, she overstayed her visa and was subsequently arrested in Boston for being a fugitive wanted for multiple serious crimes, including embezzlement, fraud, and drug offenses in Taiwan.
