John Basilone

John Basilone was a United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and a Medal of Honor recipient for his heroics during World War II, particularly in the Guadalcanal Campaign. He became a legendary figure for his bravery and sacrifice during the Battle of Iwo Jima, where he was killed in action shortly after landing on the island.
