John Ndung’u is a prominent figure in Kenya's history of political activism, known for his participation in a peaceful hunger strike on March 3, 1992, at Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park. Alongside fellow activists, he campaigned for the release of political prisoners, including former MP Koigi wa Wamwere. Recently, Ndung’u has been in the news as he and other survivors of the hunger strike seek compensation from the Supreme Court for the brutal treatment they endured at the hands of the police during their protest.
