John Speke

John Speke was a British explorer and soldier known for his expeditions in East Africa during the 19th century. He is particularly famous for being one of the first Europeans to discover Lake Tanganyika, which he did alongside fellow explorer Sir Richard Burton in 1858, contributing significantly to the geographical knowledge of Africa.
