Jón Þorláksson

Jón Þorláksson is known as the first chairman of the Independence Party in Iceland, a position he held from the party's founding in 1929 until 1932. He was a significant figure in the early political landscape of Iceland, although Halldór Blöndal recently noted that he has not attended a parliamentary group meeting with Jón Þorláksson.
