Jón úr Vör
Jón úr Vör was a prominent Icelandic poet and the first librarian of Kópavogur, a position he held when the local library was still in its infancy, operating out of a small room in Kársnesskóli. He is remembered not only for his literary contributions but also for his role in developing the community's access to literature. Recently, he was mentioned in the news following the return of a book he lent out in 1969, marking what is reportedly the longest overdue loan in the history of the Kópavogur library.
