Jonas Kimontas

Jonas Kimontas is the head of the Project Management Department at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (IAE) in Lithuania. Recently, he announced the upcoming tender for the dismantling of two RBMK-type reactor cores, a significant and complex project estimated to cost nearly 500 million euros. This project marks the largest effort in the decommissioning of the IAE since its closure in 2010, and it has attracted interest from around 40 international companies experienced in dismantling nuclear facilities.
