Jonas Polovinskas-Budrys
Jonas Polovinskas-Budrys was a prominent Lithuanian military officer and diplomat known for his significant role in the Klaipėda Uprising of 1923, which led to the incorporation of the Klaipėda Region into Lithuania. He served as the head of the counterintelligence section of the General Staff and was a key organizer of the actions in Klaipėda. Following the successful occupation, he held various important positions, including the Deputy High Commissioner and later the Governor of the Klaipėda Region. His diplomatic career continued as he served in various capacities, including as the Lithuanian Consul General in New York until his death in 1964.
