Jonathan Teófilo Ventura Vega was a 36-year-old mototaxista who tragically lost his life during a 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Lima, Peru, on June 15, 2023. He was waiting for a passenger when a wall from a nearby construction site collapsed, leading to his untimely death. His passing highlighted the dangers posed by poorly secured buildings in seismic areas, and the Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS) announced that they would cover his funeral expenses as part of their commitment to support those affected by emergencies.
