Jörg L. is a German humanitarian worker who was kidnapped in 2018 and held captive for four years and eight months by the Islamic State – Sahel Province (ISSP) in the Sahel region of Africa. His case highlights the dangers faced by aid workers in conflict zones, as well as the complex issues surrounding ransom payments in hostage situations.
