Jorge Cárdenas Gutiérrez

Jorge Cárdenas Gutiérrez, born on August 20, 1930, in Medellín, was a prominent Colombian agricultural leader who dedicated 19 years to serving as the general manager of the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC), significantly influencing the coffee industry in Colombia. He played a pivotal role during the coffee boom of the 1970s, advocating for institutional stability and promoting the brand Café de Colombia internationally. Cárdenas held various positions throughout his career, including a brief judicial role and financial vice presidency at Ecopetrol, before fully embracing the coffee sector. He passed away at the age of 94 on April 13, 2024.
