Jorge Encalada

Jorge Encalada is the president of the Directorio de la Asociación de Exportadores de Banano del Ecuador (Aebe), playing a pivotal role in the Ecuadorian banana export industry. Recently, he was in the news for participating in the signing of a letter of intention aimed at enhancing the genetic improvement of the Cavendish banana variety in collaboration with Brazil and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), in response to significant phytosanitary threats.
