Jorge Iturriaga

Jorge Iturriaga is a Chilean general who, during his time as a captain in 1967, experienced a dramatic volcanic eruption while stationed at a military base on Deception Island in Antarctica. His account of the eruption, which forced the evacuation of his team, is documented in his book 'Infierno en Isla Decepción'.
