Jorge Traverso
Jorge Traverso was a prominent Uruguayan journalist, best known for his long tenure as the host of 'Subrayado', the central news program on Canal 10, from 1990 to 2013. Throughout his career, he earned several prestigious awards, including five Premios Iris and the Premio Nacional de Periodismo José Enrique Rodó. Traverso was also recognized for his contributions to the field with a Konex Mercosur Award and was the first Uruguayan journalist invited to the Academy Awards. He later hosted various radio and television programs, such as 'Tiempo Presente' and 'Hora Pico'. His passing on Sunday was due to complications from a heart surgery, marking the loss of a significant figure in Uruguayan journalism.
