José Alejandro Lagombra
José Alejandro Lagombra, affectionately known as Cheo, was a prominent educator in Puerto Plata who dedicated his life to teaching and mentoring generations of students. He served as the director of the Liceo Ana Isabel Jiménez and held the position of regional director of education from 1997 to 2000. Lagombra was a founding member and president of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) in Puerto Plata and played a significant role in the local educational community. He was recognized for his exemplary career and peaceful demeanor, receiving honors in 2009 for his contributions to education. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 81 after being struck by a vehicle while exercising.
