José Andrés Bel, affectionately known as 'Pepito', was a well-regarded entrepreneur who operated multiple restaurants and bars in El Port de la Selva, a picturesque village on the Costa Brava. He had a successful background in the retail industry, having held prominent positions in companies such as Castañer and Stradivarius. Bel's ambitious business approach led him to acquire several establishments, making significant investments that initially brought prosperity to the local dining scene. Tragically, following the deaths of his wife and his own suicide attempt, he passed away in August 2023, leading to the closure of numerous beloved local businesses.
