José Baía

José 'Zé' Baía has been appointed as the new head coach of the Cape Verde Men's Basketball National Team, following the resignation of former coach Emanuel Trovoada. A former athlete turned mentor, Baía began his coaching journey training children in his neighborhood and has since gained a reputation as one of the country's most respected coaches. He has experience leading teams from youth levels to senior ranks and has also coached the Cape Verdean U-16 national team at the Afrobasket, showcasing his ability to develop talent and compete on an international stage.
