José Balanzategui

José Balanzategui has been appointed as the new president of the Caisse nationale de santé (CNS) in Luxembourg, effective November 1. He has been with the organization since 1998 and previously served as a senior advisor to the management since 2012. Balanzategui briefly held the position of interim president in October 2018. He holds degrees in economics and industrial and service economics from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University and has prior experience working in the Directorate-General for Development at the European Commission. His presidency comes at a challenging time for the CNS, which is facing significant financial and operational hurdles.
